Neon tubes are hand-bent glass filled with gas, and when they crack, leak, or burn out, they need to be repaired by a trained neon bender or replaced with new tubes bent to match the original shape exactly.

Our shop includes a full neon bending station where we fabricate replacement neon tubes to match your existing sign. We can match tube diameter, gas type (neon for reds and warm oranges, argon with mercury for blues, greens, and whites), phosphor coating color, and electrode type. If one section of your neon sign is broken, we replace just that section to match the rest of the sign seamlessly.

For older neon signs where the transformer has failed, we replace the transformer with a modern, properly rated equivalent. For businesses that want to preserve the neon aesthetic but dramatically reduce maintenance requirements, we can convert neon sections to LED neon flex that replicates the look of traditional neon but requires virtually no maintenance and uses a fraction of the energy.

If a sign can be repaired cost-effectively and still has years of reliable service life remaining, we will tell you that and recommend the repair. If the sign is so deteriorated that repair costs approach or exceed replacement costs, or if the sign is so old that replacement parts are no longer available, we will tell you that too.

As a general guideline, signs less than 10 years old with sound structural integrity are almost always worth repairing. Signs between 10 and 15 years old require case-by-case evaluation based on the specific issue and the overall condition of the sign. Signs over 15 years old with multiple failing components may be better candidates for replacement, especially when you can take advantage of modern LED technology, improved energy efficiency, and a fresh manufacturer warranty.
