Front-Lit Channel Letters
The primary fascia sign — UL Listed LED, acrylic faces, trim cap. Engineered to pass Westfield, The Grove, Beverly Center, and strip-mall tenant criteria the first time through.
From channel letters on the fascia to the window vinyl that stops foot traffic mid-stride, we build every sign your retail store needs to win the walk-in. C-45 licensed. Tenant-criteria submittals for every major LA shopping center. Free design mockups before a single dollar is spent.
Retail is a conversion game. The people in front of your store either walk in or they don't — and your signage is the single biggest factor in that split-second decision. Every sign we build for retailers is engineered for legibility from across a parking lot, meets landlord tenant criteria on the first submittal, and creates the visual continuity between storefront, window, and interior that turns browsers into buyers.
The primary fascia sign — UL Listed LED, acrylic faces, trim cap. Engineered to pass Westfield, The Grove, Beverly Center, and strip-mall tenant criteria the first time through.
Full-color printed window graphics, hours decals, logo vinyl, and promo overlays. Day/night perforated vinyl for privacy without blocking interior lighting after dark.
Double-sided cabinets that hang perpendicular to the storefront. Critical for pedestrian visibility on Melrose, Abbot Kinney, Montana Ave, and Third Street Promenade.
Printed or sewn awning graphics with logo reproduction, weather-rated outdoor fabrics, and under-canopy illumination for brand continuity day and night.
Changeable-face A-frames, chalkboard sandwich boards, and weighted outdoor easels for daily specials, sale callouts, and sidewalk attention-grabbers.
Pylon-face tenant inserts, multi-tenant monument panels, and parking-lot directionals for power centers, lifestyle malls, and anchored strip retail.
Westfield Century City, The Grove, The Americana, Beverly Center, Santa Monica Place, Fashion Island, South Coast Plaza — we submit to each of their sign criteria formats weekly. Approved on round one, not round three.
When the lease says open on the 1st, we've got a production track that has delivered lit channel letters in under 3 weeks for soft-launch openings. Banner backup included if LADBS drags.
Printed window vinyl, dimensional wall letters in the fitting-room area, channel letters on the facade, A-frame out front — all produced in our Gardena shop so brand color and finish stays consistent everywhere.
For brand tenants inside Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, and department-store shop-in-shops, we fabricate fixture-mounted signage to host-retailer specifications — clean removable, non-damaging, inspection-ready.
Primal Cuts needed a retail-grade channel letter set that could hold its own inside a curated DTLA food-hall environment where every neighboring tenant was fighting for attention. We designed and fabricated front-lit channel letters with UL Listed warm-white LEDs, deep-return 5" aluminum construction, and a matte-black trim cap that reads cleanly against the raw concrete wall behind it. The package included printed window vinyl for hours and social handles, a routed-aluminum logo plaque for the counter-front, and coordinated interior dimensional letters for the walk-up ordering station. We handled the landlord sign-criteria submittal, pulled the LADBS permit, and installed on a Sunday overnight close so the food hall never went dark on regular business hours.
Scope: Design, fabrication, window graphics, interior plaque, LADBS permit, install.
Lead time: 4 weeks signed proposal to lit sign.
Most LA retailers budget $2,800–$9,500 for an exterior channel letter sign or blade cabinet, including design, fabrication, permit, and install. Printed window graphics packages run $500–$2,500. Full storefront refreshes with channel letters, blade, and window graphics typically land between $7,000 and $18,000.
Almost always yes. Westfield, The Grove, The Americana, Beverly Center, Santa Monica Place, and most strip-mall landlords publish a Tenant Sign Criteria document. We build submittals to that exact format — returns, trim cap, illumination, mounting — so approval comes back clean on round one.
We use 3M and Avery cast vinyl rated 5–7 years outdoors in Southern California sun. Day/night perforated vinyl for windows gets 3–5 years before UV fade shows. Seasonal promo graphics use shorter-life removable films that peel off clean.
Yes. Most retail clients order window vinyl, hours decals, logo graphics, and A-frame signs with us at the same time as their channel letters so the branding stays tight across every touchpoint. One designer, one install crew, one invoice.
4–6 weeks for permitted illuminated signage in most LA and OC jurisdictions. Non-permitted dimensional letters, window graphics, and A-frames ship in 7–14 business days. Rush fabrication is available for grand openings.
